Patty Karuaihe-Martin, Managing Director, NamibRe is the New President of the AIO

Ms. Karuaihe-Martin is a seasoned business and finance professional with over 30 years of

experience in the financial and insurance industry, including Senior Partner at

PriceWaterhouseCoopers (PWC). She is the 2nd Vice-President of the Namibia Chamber of

Commerce and Industry (NCCI).

Patty is Vice-President of the Africa Insurance Organization (AIO) and UNEP-FI Global

Steering Committee Co-Chair. Patty was recently awarded the Top 50 Women in Insurance

in Africa award by AIO and PILA (Professional Insurance Ladies Association), the Top 10

Women to Watch in the Insurance Sector award by Angaza (Africa Women in Banking,

Finance & Investment), and in 2023 she was shortlisted as Top 50 for the Africa Financial

Industry Summit Awards in the Woman Leader by the Africa  Financial Industry Summit

(AFIS).

NamibRe has enjoyed significant success under her leadership. She strongly believes in

thought leadership and continuous professional development; she has a great passion for

sustainability and an unquestionable drive to make a tangible impact in the insurance

landscape.

Ms Karuaihe-Martin strongly advocates Thought Leadership through social media, imparting

knowledge and participating in global spaces and platforms and regular industry roundtable

discussions. She serves on a global network of change agents as Woman Working for Change Ambassador, a title conferred on high achievers who are actively committed to unleashing the potential of female leadership in Africa. 

Patty is the 6th woman to head the AIO as President since 1972.
